Mustard Seed Mountain

Mustard Seed Mountain is West Virginia's first street paper based out of Wheeling, WV. Founded during the summer of 2021, Mustard Seed Mountain has grown into a resource and a voice for those who experience poverty, homelessness, and other similar hardships in Ohio County, WV. I joined the MSM team in the fall of 2021 as their intern layout designer. While working on MSM, I was presented with opportunities to meet some of the people impacted by this tremendous project.

Goals

Gain experience working outside of a classroom setting.
Communicate amongst other creatives and refined finished product.
Display provided information in a unique way that engages readers and encourages them to read each issue.

Issue 3

Issue 3 of Mustard Seed Mountain covered the topic of prison and life after one is released. This issue provides readers with a sense of hope that anyone who has served time is capable of a better life for themselves.

Issue 4

Issue 4 discusses the hardships that children face while experiencing home insecurity and foster care. Children in these situations often face trauma and difficulty that no child should have to endure.
